Icymi: Phish Announces "The Baker's Dozen" At Msg

(You probably haven't missed it...) PHISH will be playing thirteen (13) shows at Madison Square Garden in July and August this summer, and there will not be a fall tour. The shows will occur on July 21, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28, 29, and 30, and August 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6. For more information, and to watch the hilarious announcement video, please visit Phish.com or, naturally, visit http://tickets.phish.com/thebakersdozen/ to order tickets during the Phish Tickets window, which closes Sunday, February 12. And hey: if you're interested in trying to get a ticket to every show at once, there's an option for that (and even a "Payment Plan" option taboot taboot).

shaunfunk With all the cash grab rhetoric, hope this is the end of "rich enough not to practice"!!!!!

cophishbish Does anyone know if this is ALL there will be this summer i.e. no Dicks? I had heard there might be a couple Midwest shows. Possibly all until Halloween or of course, more shows at MSG.....

frantic0blivion So this presents a few unique opportunities that have probably already been noted:

- no repeats for the run would mean at least 250 different songs. They could go for some kind of record like most songs played in a single year and also at a single venue.
- 13 albums, 13 shows. First set each night could be a run through of the catalogue with the second sets covering unreleased material & mainstay covers

hambone024 Love the ideas for creative sets.

But right now, I'm just looking for some indication what else they might do this year. Hoping Dicks. Or sonewher else reachable and outside.

Any hope of an announcement soon?

Pipertheredworm Stop looking for something else. They just announced an epic run. Get there.

HHood I am sure this has been discussed but just in case...each night they play one of their 13 major studio album for a set. Their take on what U2 is doing. I would consider trading away my wife for a one night with Rift or Billy Breaths.

Sleeper comment of the year. Amen. Yes

Bosco057 This is a major bummer. I'll prob go to 2-3 of them since it gives me a chance to visit my brother in Brooklyn, but I hate MSG in the winter. In the summer? No thank you. That place is a concrete hole in the middle of Manhattan. One of my least favorite venues in the country truth be told. No lot. No soul. Wish they were doing Randall's again.
