10/14/94 McAllister Aud., Tulane, New Orleans, LA (Rvwd 2/95) Thanks
to Scott Jordan for this AUD! Extremely
upbeat opening segment. As energetic as they get. CH-ch sounds from
Trey, Typical exaggerated lyrics. Funky organ sound
from Page. The jam takes off on fire and really grooves for the first
few minutes. Everyone wails, but it is not typically
tweezeresque; more of a light, delicate pastry, as opposed to chocolate
rum cake. The jam unfortunately slows down at around
the 9 minute mark, losing the upbeat groove that the first few mins
of the jam bore witness to. Gets really flaky at this point, and
stays flaky for about two minutes or so. After this flaky section (not
spacey, not dissonant.. flaky), the jam kicks back in but
never reaches the intensity of the first few minutes. Booo. It just
gets too loose. I like the ending jam, I really do, but as far as
1994 Tweezers go, this ain't even close to the average (great) versions.
13 mins about. 4.5 rating (good, not great). (C)
